Punta Pitt tour itinerary

The trip starts from the pier of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, on San Cristobal Island. While sailing, you will be able to appreciate the majestic Kicker Rock from different points of view..

The first point of visit is the beautiful Cerro Brujo, here you will be able to appreciate closely this huge formation composed of several types of lava and eroded tuff.
Don’t forget to bring your camera: you will get a unique view of the Kicker Rock.

Punta Pitt Islet.

Next, you will arrive at Punta Pitt, where you will see several boobies, petrels and frigatebirds flying over the islet.
There, you can snorkel and observe a great variety of colorful fish and diverse marine life.
It is also possible to scuba-dive. Talk to our consultant if you want to take this extra activity.

After snorkeling, a delicious lunch will be waiting for you on the yacht, and then you will head to the Punta Pitt beach.

The landing on the beach is wet, which means you will have to carry your shoes in your hands.

After disembarking, you will start the hike from the beach to the top of Punta Pitt.
- We recommend that you wear shoes for walking on rocks, as there is no trail. This hike takes about 2 hours.
You will get the chance to see one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Galapagos Islands.

Along the trail, you will encounter blue-footed boobies resting or taking care of their chicks.
You must be very careful not to scare them and always keep a considerable distance (2 to 3 meters).

Near the cliffs and on tree branches, you will see red-footed boobies – some of them are brown and others are white.
- We recommend you bring binoculars, as some of them may be far from the trail.

You can also appreciate the Nazca boobies, as they usually fly over these ancient lands.
These little animals are easy to recognize by the black “mask” that covers their eyes and by their brownish/black wings.

On the bushes, you will see several male and female frigatebirds nesting or taking care of their chicks. Male frigatebirds have a red chest, while females have a white chest and head.

Finally, you will return to the beach at Punta Pitt, where you will find sea lions resting on the sand.

- This is the only place where you will be able to observe three types of boobies.
