180° Santa Cruz Island Tour,

The 180° Santa Cruz Island Tour will take you on a semicircular route around the Santa Cruz Island, departing from Puerto Ayora, with exciting stops at specific points on Pinzon island, Dum islet and Daphne Mayor; disembarking at Palmitas Beach, Eden Beach or Borrero Bay. This adventure consists mainly of snorkeling in crystal-clear waters with the possibility of observing sea turtles, sea lions, tropical fish, starfish, white-tipped reef sharks, manta rays, marine iguanas, and, in Daphne, stingrays and eagle rays from August to November. In addition, it allows you to photograph iconic birds like blue-footed boobies, magnificent frigatebirds, pelicans, gulls and tropical birds.

Information about Pinzón Island: Located in the center of the Galapagos archipelago, it is just 25 km from Santa Cruz Island. With an area of 18 km² and a maximum altitude of 458 meters above sea level.
Information about the Daphne Mayor Island: It is located north of Santa Cruz Island, very close to Baltra Airport and North Seymour Island. It has an area of approximately 0.32 km². The volcanic crater rises to 120 meters above sea level.

How do you get to Pinzón and Daphne Island ?

At 08:20 our team will be waiting for you at the offices of Grupo Galápagos, from where you will go to the pier of Puerto Ayora. There, a certified nature guide will accompany you during the boarding process to begin sailing for approximately 1 hour to the first destination, the spectacular Pinzón Island, one of the best snorkeling spots in Galapagos for its abundant marine life.

Pinzón Island
The first stop will be Penguin Bay or Dum islet, an ideal place to practice snorkeling and observe the incredible marine biodiversity up close: blacktip sharks and whitetip reef sharks, sea turtles, sea lions and colorful tropical fish.

Walk on the beach

As the second destination of the tour, and after about 20 minutes of sailing, the next stop will be announced: Palmitas Beach, Eden Beach or Borrero Bay, depending on the itinerary assigned for that day. In any of these places, you can rest and relax in crystal-clear, calm waters, surrounded by unique landscapes and abundant vegetation native to the Galápagos

You'll enjoy a delicious lunch on board and a pleasant rest as you prepare for the next activity.

Next, the tour sails to Daphne Island. During the walk around this volcanic island, you will be able to observe a great diversity of seabirds such as blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, swallow-tailed gulls, magnificent frigatebirds, pelicans, and red-billed tropicbirds.

Snorkeling

Recognized as one of the best snorkeling spots in Galapagos. Here you can swim in crystal clear waters and enjoy the astonishing marine diversity, including sea lions, sea turtles, whitetip reef sharks, blacktip sharks, stingrays, and eagle rays.

Between August and November, there is about a 50% chance of spotting the majestic manta rays, which usually feed in the plankton-rich waters.

Note: You don't need previous experience in snorkeling, the ship's crew will always be there to assist you.

Return

After this exciting snorkeling experience, the boat will return to the Itabaca Canal, where a land transport will take you comfortably back to Puerto Ayora, thus ending a day full of adventure, nature and biodiversity unique to Galapagos.
